Reporting to Manager CoE Stamping and Plating he/she will support manufacturing operations in safety, production efficiency and quality related issues as well as establishing and maintaining best demonstrated practices and any other initiative throughout Automotive EMEA Plating that could improve interplant collaboration.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead varied manufacturing projects, including: Process improvements, Cost reduction, efficiency improvement, safety upgrades and introduction of innovation
- Introduction of advanced technologies to plating area (digital factory)
- Support of EMEA Plating departments
- Continuous improvement of safety, quality and productivity in the plating area
- Participation in the definition of the plating strategy and TE Best roadmap
- Support footprint optimization activities
- Support the TEOA transformation
- Work together with CoE Factory Leaders to facilitate interplant collaboration
- Identify technical training needs to ensure the plating departments stay at the forefront of technology
Experience and Skills Required
- Master’s degree in mechanical, chemistry or equivalent engineering
- 5 years of experience in Automotive Plating environment
- Extensive knowledge and experience of plating tool construction and associated chemistry
- Manufacturing background to understand the factory and its functions
- Project management, working under time, budget and resources pressures
- Continuous improvement knowledge such as 6 sigma techniques
- Strong awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental issues in the workplace
- Self-motivated to work on diverse projects from technology, budget and timescale point of view
- Flexible approach about supporting Operations
- Proven team player able to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization
- Critical thinker, holistic view of the business, results oriented
- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver concise, timely and relevant information
- Organized with the ability to work independently to achieve agreed deliverables
- Multi-tasking, be able to competently manage numerous projects and objectives simultaneously
- Understanding of the fundamental principles and the interactions between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
