Description: Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation is employing Registered Nurse/Team Leader (Signature OB/GYN) right now, this occupation will be placed in Maryland. The registered nurse team leader in the ambulatory practice: (1) Utilizes the nursing process, as defined by the Mary! land Nurse Practice Act, and participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary health care team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient; (2) Serves as overall, on-site unlicensed assistive personnel staff (Medical Assistant) leader for daily administrative operations; (3) Collaborates with administrator to facilitate operational flow. Note: The Medical Assistant (MA) functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing patient care. The MA reports to the clinic manager or lead nurse, who is responsible for the administrative supervision and orientation of the CMA to the area’s policies and procedures.

Education: Baccalaureate degree, Associate degree, or Diploma in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served in the department. Knowledge of current health care environment. ! Ability to learn and use a computer based patient appointment ! scheduling and registration system. Working knowledge of medical insurance to effectively oversee the patient encounter. Knowledge of CLIA laboratory licensing requirements desirable. Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to analyze data to synthesize and summarize information, and make judgments regarding patient care. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality patient care. Ability to document legibly using a writing instrument. Ability to use a computer keyboard to input and obtain data.

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.: Current Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland. Current CPR certification. Recertification required every two years. Work Experience: Two years medical/surgical nursing (Why med/surg if this is an ambulatory practice? Why not OB/GYN?)experience, preferably in a private practice setting. Two years of experien! ce in a lead or supervisory position in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting preferred. Machines, Tools, Equipment: General physiologic monitoring and patient care equipment such as defibrillator and glucometer monitor. Electronic medical record system.
