The Medical Research Division of Wolters Kluwer Health is currently recruiting for a Journal Production Associate. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is located in the Baltimore office.
Primary responsibilities include:
Manages and coordinates the preparation and tracking of all journal content for successful and timely distribution to print, online, and mobile device publication.
Manages the printing and proofing process, including adv! ertising as needed.
Also responsible for the quality of all deliverable, both print and electronic.
Manage production schedule of printed publication and of iPad publication, including file delivery/management to vendors, QC, functionality testing, and advertising review.
Manage iPad support with advertising coordinators/sales, ad file testing and placement in apps
Manage iPad video and multimedia submissions, QC and compression as needed
Primary day-to-day communication with vendors and internal customers. Responsible for strict adherence to schedules.
Manage and monitor production schedules, including advertising deadlines.
Communicate status of publication through final mail and iPad application deliverables.
Confirm that all material is complete, accurate, and meets our quality expectations.
Interact with and manage internal and external customers (publishers, editors, authors, societies) a! nd vendors. Primary liaison with print vendors.
Resolve issues! quickly and keep production process moving.
Maintain and monitor advertising deadlines and deliverables Also, ensure that all changes or additions are completed and keep production process moving.
Monitor and review all vendor invoicing including alterations and other production costs, and additional cost-saving initiatives.
Coordinates pre-flighting of ads and provides feedback to advertisers for file correction
Responsible for performing quality review of print issues
Responsible for performing quality review of ipad issues
Responsible for tracking receipt of and manage processing and quality of ads
Manage advertising placement instructions; clarify contradictory orders
Organize insertion orders
Other activities as required.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, Production Design, or journalism preferred.
