We currently have an opening for a staff occupational therapist in our 54-bed acute rehabilitation hospital in
Salisbury
,
Maryland
.
We also service the community with a hospital based outpatient site and a Home Health service program.
An experienced strong COTA would be considered for this position

is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, 30 miles from the ocean and resort areas and 2 to 2 ½ hours from

This position would be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with a variety of neurological, cardiac, pulmonary and orthopedic diagnoses.
The occupational therapist is an integral part of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team consisting of physical thera! py, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, therapeut! ic recreation, nursing and rehabilitation medicine specialists.

The
Occupational Therapist
is part of a full team of rehabilitation specialists including Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Nursing and Medical staff providing therapy treatment and patient care according to hospital, state, professional and federal regulations and guidelines. In addition, the position:
Requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, caregivers, and departmental and interdepartmental relationships.
Requires competency in physical therapy evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment.
Requires task delegation and supervision of physical therapist assistants and technicians.
Maintains open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met.
Who will you treat?
We are a post acute rehabilitation hospital setting. Typically our PT, OT and SLP therapists can ! expect to spend an average of 1-4 weeks with our patients, treating a w! ide clinical caseload such as: stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, various neurological disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, amputation, joint replacement, fractures, multiple trauma, cardiac conditions, and pulmonary conditions.

Qualifications
License or Certification:
- Must be in possession of current state license or certification on or before the first day of employment.
- CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy.
- Successful completion of a degree from an accredited therapy program or one that is determined to be substantially equivalent to a U.S. accredited program by an appropriate certifying agency preferred.
- Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifti! ng, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum ! requirements
