General Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist must effectively communicate, use critic! al thinking and analytical skills. The ability to utilize theory in problem solving, and to integrate specialty knowledge with a holistic orientation is a must. She must facilitate positive patient outcomes within a cost containment atmosphere. In addition, by utilizing publicized research findings as well as national guidelines and standards, the CNS presents information to healthcare providers and nursing staff to facilitate a change in practice.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements initiatives to improve quality of care and service.
  • Systematically develops criteria for and evaluates the effectiveness of nursing practice and organizational systems.
  • Acquires and maintains current knowledge, competency in area of specialty, and professional growth.
  • Supports effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Supports and promotes activities that support the spiritual care mission.
Qu! alifications

Required:
  • Licensure ! as a registered nurse in Maryland.
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of five years program and staff development experience in an advanced position responsible for the growth and development of a medical/hospital service line.
  • A masters degree in nursing.
  • Ability to create a work environment that promotes efficiency and productivity, satisfaction, growth and development, and collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English, including communication skills that promote interpersonal relations and customer service.
  • Strong leadership and organization skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and activities.
  • Computer proficiency in HIS, windows and internet environments, and Microsoft Suite applications
Work Schedule

Full-time, benefits eligible
Shift: Day
Weekends: No
