JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, manages Certification programs, and related projects. Evaluates quality and integrity of program implementation and ensures strategies support program development and goals of the Certification department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for project management to assigned programs to efficiently and effectively support attainment of the Certification department strategic growth goals. Applies an understanding of project management and analytical skills to provide insight on program initiatives.
2. Serves as a primary liaison to specialty organizations, associations and universities participating in the Career Portfolio Program, Certificate Program and other programs outside domestic certification exams.
3. Establishes programs and processes for collaborating organizations which involve interaction with Expert Panels, specialty organization representatives, specialty! organization leaders, academic leaders and collaborating heal! thcare organizations for BR Certification Programs.
4. Supports strategies and provides oversight of activities for continued growth opportunities within BR Certification Programs.
5. Creates a customer-focused service environment that serves the needs of specialty organizations, academic, collaborating organizations and association entities.
6. Collaborates with Measurement Services to monitor and evaluate the validity of BR Certification programs.
7. Manages appropriate budgets for assigned programs. Evaluates programs for financial impact.
8. Develops, implements and evaluates the Career Portfolio program for the selection and training of Career Portfolio appraisers.
9. Participates in meetings of the Commission on Certification and other entities as a staff advisor and liaison to the Certification Director.
10. Responsible for the ANCC Certified Nurse of the Year Award process. Collaborates with the ANCC Gov! ernance manager on the process, including the development, implementation, and calendar for the entire process.
11. Independently researches, develops and writes relevant program policies for the Commission on Certification and Certification department under the direction of the Certification Director.
12. Serves as a liaison to the Marketing department for Certification. Collaborates with the Marketing department in developing information and materials concerning Certification product lines for use in marketing activities.
13. Writes articles for various publications such as: The American Nurse, the ANCC newsletter, annual reports, and other materials to promote relevant Certification programs.
14. Establishes personal and professional credibility, gains respect and
builds trusting relationships with the staff and customers. Serve as a point of contact between Certification Director and staff or other key stakeholders to ensur! e goals and projects are achieved on time.
15. Facilitates the! ISO audit process in the Certification department. Collaborates with Certification work units to ensure ISO requirements are maintained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education
RN, BSN required. Business background desired. Masters degree or equivalent education desirable.
Relevant Work Experience
Five years experience in project management. Clinical knowledge base required. Proven record of ability to design and implement nursing specific programs. Nursing credentialing experience desired. Understanding of ISO requirements desirable. Demonstration of Experience working with customer relations and communication with external stakeholders required.
