The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Specialist is responsible managing and monitoring compliance related to all Federal and State Legislation (MCCS, ACA, NCCHS, Program, etc), as well as current contract requirements. The Director provides guidance and consultation to leadership on any processes, policies, or practices that are not in compliance. The Director also provides leadership, consultation, and support in the development of a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
1. Develops and oversees a Statewide CQI program that ensures compliance with regulatory and contract requirements, and is in alignment with program evaluation findings and goals.
2. Participates in decision-making and provides recommendations to the leadership team on CQI needs ! and provision of high quality clinical services that are cost-effective.
3. Works closely with the Regional team, clinical and administrative managers to establish and maintain CQI standards and measures, and to design and implement effective processes and programs to improve quality of care and ensure compliance, including high volume, high risk areas.
4. Collaborates with other vendors to ensure alignment of QI goals and programs; provides input to program evaluation based on CQI needs and findings.
5. Implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and contract requirements related to CQI process and outcome monitoring and evaluation of services and program.
6. Collaborates with leadership team to assess performance monitoring and implement improvement plans, and to ensure accountability, feedback loops and monitoring systems.
7. Collect and analyze data to identify trends and patterns related to areas of concern.
8. Mainta! ins strong relationships with leadership and staff by to ensure the qua! lity of activities and projects lead to ongoing improvement.
9. Over site of grievances and complaints for identified trends and improvement strategies.
10. Over site of provider and clinical staff education regarding opportunities to improve selected aspects of clinical care and the specific actions needed in order to achieve goals for improvement on selected clinical quality measures.
11. Participate in pertinent professional education to maintain current knowledge of best improvement practices.
12. Conforms to Wexford Healthâs and Correctional facilityâs policies and procedures.
13. Comply with safety and security regulations.
14. Maintains confidentiality of inmate records.
15. Comply with HIPAA and PHI regulations.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS LICENSING
Current unrestricted Maryland RN license required
CERTIFICATION
Current CPR Certificati! on
Quality Improvement Certification, preferred
EDUCATION
Bachelorâs Degree in Nursing Required; Masterâs Degree in Nursing, preferred
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Five-seven (5-7) years of quality improvement experience and 3-5 years of nursing experience.
- Correctional experience preferred
- Fundamental knowledge and skill in utilization of computer applications.
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of performance improvement, quality assessment, risk management, and quality improvement.
- Ability to work effectively with physicians and other health care providers as well as with multi-disciplinary teams across the contract and organization.
- Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills and strong organizational skills
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations, ! and facilitate meetings
- Must possess critical thinking skills ! and ability to independently solve problems and create processes
- Must ensure documents are ready for review well in advance of any deadline.
- Must be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is capable of performing under a variety of requirements and deadlines.
