Patient Care Assistant

Description: Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is currently seeking to employ Patient Care Assistant right now, this career will be placed in Maryland. Detailed specification about this career opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. Functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. Performs delegated nursing and support duties including direct patient care for a specific patient ! group primarily ranging in age from 0 - 21 years of age. Regularly stocks patient supplies and ensures adequate levels are maintained. Promptly answers phones and responds to patient call lights, and may perform other clerical duties in the absence of the Unit Secretary.
Effectively utilizes down time to interact with patients, families, and assist other staff with patient care activities. Complies with all policies, protocols and procedures applicable. Accurately documents patient care activities in a timely manner, and keeps RN well informed of patient status, activities, issues, and status of assignments. Functions with a focus on patient safety and customer service, and applies infection control practices consistently.
High School Graduate or GED certificate. Current CPR. Current Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Maryland. One year of applicable experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant required.
Pediatric experience highl! y desirable. Registered Nursing Students who have Nursing Assi! stant Certification and have completed their Pediatric Clinical Rotation, do not require additional work experience.Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
