POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Team Lead and as a member of McCormick’s Health & Wellness Team, the Occupational Health RN will perform nursing assessments, including evaluation of work injuries and urgent care issues for McCormick employees. This nurse will evaluate symptoms, deliver treatments and document visits appropriately. Â
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide nursing assessment and care
- Administer medication in accordance with standards of care and providers’ orders
- Document activities in a clear and concise manner using OHM (electronic medical record)
- Serve as a resource for the Absence Management Program
- Provide patient counseling and education on health & wellness
- Conduct pre-placement exams and testing for candidates
- Draw blood and administer injections Â
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in Nursing
- Current, unrestricted Maryland RN license
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule of at least 40 hours per week starting as early as 5:45AM and/or staying until 5:00PM (weekdays only)
- CPR for healthcare workers Certification
- Minimum 3 years of RN nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years in Occupational Health
- Experience working in a clinic, urgent care and/or ER
- Knowledge of how to deal with mental health or substance abuse patients
- Experience in case management and workers' compensation
- Experience with ADA, FMLA, STD/LTD and OSHA regulations
- Strong phlebotomy skills Â
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- First Aid Responder Certification
- Occupational Health Nurse Certification
- Experience in an acute care, ED and urgent care setting
- NIOSH Certification in spirometry
- CAOHC Certification in audiometry
- Lifestyle Coach Certification
- Experience with diabetic teaching Â
