The National Institutes of Health (NIH) invites candidates with strong operational and leadership experience to apply for the Service Line Chief for the Clinical Center Nursing Department (CCND), Neuroscience, Behavioral Health and Pediat ric Service (NBHP). The NIH Clinical Center is the largest hospital in the world totally dedicated to translational clinical research. The 200- bed hospital supports the intramural research programs of the Institutes and Centers across the NIH. Research participants of all ages come from across the nation and around the world.
The Clinical Center is the epicenter of intramural research and collaboration at NIH. An individual selected for this position will work in concert with, and report to, the Chief Nursing Officer. The Service Line Chief directs clinical and administrative operations, oversees development and implementation of plans, operations, and programs within the assigned units in the CCND. The Neuroscience, Behavioral Health and Pediatric service consist of 5 inpatient units, 3 ambulatory clinics and one Pediatric Day Hospital. The incumbent participates in the development and implementation of CCND the strategic plan and departmental goals, creates and driv es process improvements focused on safety and quality patient care, ensures clinical operations comply with established Evidence-Based Practice, and serves as a member of the CCND executive leadership team.
We seek a dynamic individual who possesses exceptional leadership and communication skills. Desired Nursing Management experience includes FTE management; policy and procedure development; budgetary oversight; coaching and performance management; and experience with the Magnet® designation process. The ideal candidate should possess recent leadership experience in an academic medical center and a MSN or Doctoral degree in Nursing or other related field.
