Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Registered Nurse (RN)
1 - 3 years of experience required
General Summary : Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and, if necessary, delegating patient care to specified group of patients. Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure quality of care given. Provides care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient (as defined in unit scope of care). Utilizes knowledge of principles of growth and deve! lopment appropriate to patient's age, in order to ensure that ! care provided meets unique physical and psychosocial needs of patient. Involves appropriate parties (i.e. patient's family or guardian, outside agencies) in assessment, treatment and continuing care of patient as needed. Supports Mission of CHE Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.
Minimum Requirements : Graduate of school of nursing. Current licensure by Maryland State Board of Nursing, or Compact State. CPR/BCLS certified. Successful completion of refresher program in nursing, if applicant has not had minimum of 1,000 hours of direct patient care experience within past five years. Demonstration of acceptable performance in administering medications according to Holy Cross Hospital's standards within probationary period. Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must have visual and auditory acuity. Must have ability to coordinate eyes and hands quickly and accurately.
For RNs working in Labor & Delivery, High Risk Perinatal Center, and Float Pool E! : NCC EFM certification required (for experienced RNs, certification must be obtained within six months of hire; for novice RNs, certification must be obtained within twelve months of hire).
Experienced bilingual candidates, who, in addition to English, are fluent in speaking, writing and interpreting Spanish, French, Portuguese or Mandarin Chinese, are strongly encouraged to apply.
