The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt, located in Towson, Maryland, offers comprehensive, individualized care for children, adolescents and adults with serious eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and compulsive overeating. The Center, which has been a national leader in evidenced-based treatment since 1989, provides highly specialized individual, group, family, occupational, art ! and nutritional therapies and offers a full continuum of care ! that is not found anywhere else in the region.
The Inpatient Unit is a 22-bed unit in a specially designed and elegantly appointed setting for patients with complex eating disorders. A team of Board Certified Psychiatrists coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of experienced professionals including nurses, licensed clinical social workers, registered dieticians, expressive arts therapists and psychologists. Medical problems are closely monitored by a panel of carefully selected consulting specialists.
We are looking for a licensed counselor or licensed social worker to join our team! The individual will performs a full range of clinical social work services in support of the patient's primary therapist/treatment team. Interviews patients and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate patient progress. Conducts individual, family, and group therapy sessions for patients and their families in order to assist in resolving! personal and environmental problems that prevent them from achieving their highest level of psychosocial functioning. Participates as a member of the treatment team. Develops and assists in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.
Requires: Master's degree in social work, a MD state LGSW or LCSW-C license, and 2-3 yrs exp in a mental health setting. Experience in family therapy is strongly preferred. Salary varies based on licensure and experience.
- Must be able to attend the mandatory 7 day orientation, beginning on a Thursday, Friday (excluding Saturday & Sunday) and the following Monday through Friday.
