The Adolescent Female Unit is comprised of 18 beds providing multidisciplinary assessment, evaluation and treatment, crisis intervention and stabilization primarily for adolescent girls. Discharge planning emphasizes rapid transition to the least restrictive environment appropriate to the patient's needs.
The Staff Nurse performs a full range of professional nursing services geared to the psychogeriatric patient population, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating! patient care, in accordance with team treatment plan. Communi! cates with patients and provides care based on an understanding of the cognitive and developmental needs of the geriatric population. Administers medical treatment as prescribed by physician and is responsible for teaching and providing psychosocial support to patients and their families. Provides day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff. Documents and reports patient progress to treatment team.
Requires RN license in MD or a compact state. Experience in psychiatric nursing and/or with adolescents strongly preferred.
**Must be able to attend the required 7 day orientation, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm.
