Our client is currently seeking a highly experienced and energetic professional to embark on the full-time role of Director, Clinical (Medical/Surgical). This exciting career opportunity will be located in Prince George's County, MD.Basic Function · Maintains responsibility and accountability for nursing operations within the medical/surgical and critical care departments.· In collaboration with the VP, Patient Care Services/CNO, plans, organizes, directs, implements, and evaluates nursing service delivery. · Assures coordination of patient care services across the continuum.
Establishes an interdisciplinary approach to program and care planning. · Works with the VP, Patient Care Services/CNO to realize the mission and vision of nursing in the organization. Formulates and implements policies, procedures, guidelines and standards in compliance with r! egulatory and accrediting agencies.· He/she will develop and communicate strategic and operational plans and policies consistent with the hospital's mission, vision and values. · He/she is responsible for upholding the standards of nursing practice and implementing cost effective programs to ensure that the highest level of safety and quality patient care is being delivered.· He/she is a clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in the care and treatment of the medical, surgical and/or critical care patient.Job QualificationsEXPERIENCE: Three to five years related clinical experience.
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN required. MSN preferred.LICENSURE: Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland or must be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland.CERTIFICATION: ANCC Cert! ification in area of specialty preferred. BLS required.
ACL! S preferred.SKILLS: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
