Research Nurse (Nurse Consultant)

InGenesis has an immediate need for a highly qualified Research Nurse to work full-time at our client site, the National Institute of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. Two positions are available.
The Research Nurse will function as a Nurse Consultant in the Office of the Deputy for Research and Practice Development (DRPD) at the NIH CC. The Nurse will support the barcoding technology for medication administration project known as Knowledge Based Medication Administration (KBMA).
No patient care is required; however, patient cont! act will occur during unit support of the program.
Respons! ibilities include but are not limited to
KBMA implementation including serving as contact for acceptance testing, training and educating staff, pilot testing, and monitoring and revising procedures for implementation.
Provide metrics of evaluation post-KBMA implementation; collect and analyze post-implementation evaluation data; prepare summaries and reports.
Prepare reports regarding the process of implementing KBMA, such as creating standard operating procedures, lists of frequently asked questions, issues that arose and how they were resolved, etc.
Facilitate hardware inventory and streamlining notification for repair of equipment.
Serve as a liaison among the CCND, Pharmacy Department, the Office of the Director, the Department of Clinical Research Informatics (DCRI) and other departments throughout the CC such as Respiratory Therapy.
Perform other tasks, services, and duties as assigned to ensure successful implementation of KBMA.
Minimum Qu! alifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing; plus a current and active RN license.
Five (5) years of experience in a related field.
Knowledge of Barcode System(s) and/or knowledge of Electronic Clinical Documentation System(s)
Critical thinking and decision making skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to collaborate with all levels of management and executive teams.
Ability to work with vendors.
Ability to adhere to agency regulations governing the coordination of clinical staffing.
Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
